Elizabeth City, NC — Become a soil scientist during “Dirt Rocks!,” at Port Discover’s Afterschool Science, Thursday, March 22, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Afterschool young scientists will conduct several soil tests in our "Kids Grow Garden" to help prepare for spring planting. Hands-on tests for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and soil pH will be taken to analyze the soil quality. Data collected will help Port Discover prepare soil for a fruitful garden in 2012. There is more to dirt than meets the eye!
Afterschool Science is Port Discover’s free, interactive science program featuring a different and timely topic each month. Afterschool Science is made possible thanks to the City of Elizabeth City.
